Platform Transparency

Learn how our search results, feedback system, and community rules work.

Our mission

We want SkipperSkip to operate in a way that is transparent and understandable to all users. That's why we explain how ads are presented on the platform, how the feedback system works, and what rules we apply to ensure the integrity and safety of the community.

1. Displaying ads in search results

SkipperSkip does not have any contracts or paid agreements with users that could influence the position of ads in search results. All ads are treated equally, and we do not offer paid promotion or sponsored placements. SkipperSkip does not modify search results based on users' personal data within the meaning of the DSA; the ranking is based solely on the parameters of the ad.

Terms and conditions for publishing a cruise ad

  • Matching the search criteria (dates, location, yacht type)
  • Skipper ratings and number of reviews
  • Skipper activity, including timeliness of responses and history of accepting requests.
  • Completeness of the ad (whether it contains a description, photos, route details, and yacht data).
  • Availability of places in the ad (current number of available places).

Rules for displaying cruise listings

  • The listings that best match the selected filters (route, dates, yacht type, number of places) appear at the top.
  • All skippers have equal visibility — we do not favor any profiles or ads.
  • We do not offer paid promotions or sponsored positions — the results are completely organic.
  • Users can sort ads themselves, e.g. by date, port, or cost per person.

Suggested similar trips

When publishing a trip on the SkipperSkip platform, it may suggest similar trips to the user based on parameters including the following criteria:

  • Route and ports
  • Start and end dates
  • Yacht type
  • Number of available places
  • Length of route or duration of trip.

2. Review control

Response deadline

After receiving a review, each user has 14 days to add their response. The response is publicly visible with the review and does not affect its rating.

Review publication

We publish reviews when they are submitted by the user after the joint trip is completed. If only one party submits a review, it will be published 14 days after it is submitted. During this time, the other party can still add their review or response.

How long do reviews remain?

Reviews remain visible on the user's profile until the account is deleted or in accordance with the data retention periods specified in our Privacy Policy.

Automatic moderation

Each review is automatically checked by the system for violations of the publication rules (e.g., profanity, sensitive data, or illegal content). We do not interfere with the rating or substantive content of the review.

Reporting reviews

Any review can be reported if it violates the publication rules (e.g., contains hate speech, personal data, content unrelated to the trip, or false accusations). The SkipperSkip team reviews the report and removes the review only if the violation is confirmed.

3. Comparison of trips offered by professional carriers

The platform may display advertisements for cruises offered by professional Skippers. These are commercial cruises, clearly marked in the cruise details section. The SkipperSkip platform does not organize or operate these cruises — it only enables their presentation.

In the case of commercial advertisements, the cost per person shown in the advertisement is the final cost, and SkipperSkip does not add any additional costs.

Any settlements related to the provision of the service are made exclusively between the user and the Skipper who is a party to the offer.

4. Important information

SkipperSkip is an advertising platform that allows users to publish and search for cost-sharing sailing trips and commercial trips added by professional skippers. The platform does not organize trips, provide sailing or transportation services, and is not responsible for the course of the trip — our role is limited to providing functionality and technical infrastructure.

Documents submitted by skippers may be subject to visual verification, the sole purpose of which is to confirm the accuracy of the data in the profile. We do not confirm the validity of licenses or qualifications, nor can we guarantee the technical condition of the yachts or the behavior of participants during the cruise.

Settlement of costs related to the cruise takes place directly between users, outside the platform. We recommend that passengers check the skipper's and yacht's insurance and have individual travel insurance.

5. Applicable law and contact

SkipperSkip operates in accordance with Polish law. All matters relating to the use of the platform are subject to Polish law, and any disputes will be settled in accordance with the relevant regulations.

Users who use the platform's services as consumers retain their rights under the Consumer Rights Act, including the right to file a complaint about the functioning of the platform. Consumers may also seek assistance from the Consumer Ombudsman or available out-of-court dispute resolution methods. If you have any questions about the operation of the platform, please contact us via the contact form.
